I was born in The Hague in 1956. After secondary school I worked as model in Holland and abroad. Already in those days photography was my passion and I soon had the intention to make my hobby, my profession. At the age of 33 I attended the "Academy of Photography Amsterdam", where I followed a four year course to learn the ultimate tricks of the trade and the different facets of professional photography. Afterwards I even became a teacher there.
Quite soon I realized that photographing people appealed to me most and so I specialized in that. Photography is and remains for me a wonderful profession.

Exhibited with 350 portraits at Schiphol Airport ("Hoeden en Petten op Schiphol"): passersby, travelers, pilots, flight attendants, etc. As long as they had something on their heads and were as diverse as possible.
Infrared exhibition at "Het Oude Raadhuis" in Warmond and "KiekOtentiek": exclusively featuring portraits of people who still wear traditional dress every day, all year round, because they are accustomed to it and it is part of the local heritage. (Analog photography)
The municipality of Noordwijk purchased 24 photos for a (permanent) outdoor exhibition on the Wilhelmina Boulevard near the lighthouse. These are photographs of statues and "historic" landmarks in Noordwijk, which I subsequently edited digitally.
